ADOPTION PROGRAM BAPRC firmly believes children are precious. The Fost/Adopt program is the nucleus of BAPRC. Recruiting, training and preparing families to become stable, loving homes for our children is at the heart of BAPRC's mission. Through culturally sensitive screening and assessment, BAPRC adoptive families are prepared to meet the unique challenges of children who have entered the Child Welfare System. All children deserve a permanent, loving home and our adoptive program meets that objective. Once a family joins in the partnership to prepare their family for adoption, a professional staff of Master's level social workers, BAPRC prepares them for the journey that a child travels while in the Child Welfare System. Families can be assured they will receive top-notch support and continuing education. Once matched with a child, families are supported through monthly home consultations and agency functions, such as "Celebrating our Children." Families are also able to reap the wisdom of other families who have adopted by attending our monthly peer - lead support groups, which are called Kinship Circles. The entire Fost/Adopt process, from screening through finalization, can take from six months to twenty-four months depending on the child's circumstances. BAPRC is there every step of the way.
